C-3PO is a protocol droid featured prominently in the Star Wars saga, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), later subtitled A New Hope.

Designed primarily for etiquette and translation, C-3PO is fluent in over six million forms of communication. He is characterized by his golden metallic casing and often anxious demeanor.
